More About Hummingbirds

You already know by now that I’ve become obsessed with hummingbirds. And that I want to share/infect others with this obsession.

So I thought all you apartment dwellers should not be hindered from enjoying hummingbirds by planting hummingbird-friendly flowers, and hanging hummingbird feeders — just because you don’t have a yard.

But how high will they fly? Obviously those who live at  ground level are OK, as are those who live on the second floor–my window feeder is almost up at second floor level. But that is a pretty small fraction of the total number of hummingbird aficionados who live in apartments. I scoured Google to find some authoritative source that would tell me “How high?” to no avail.

Guess what: you’re almost all in luck. My friend NA’s upstairs neighbour has hummingbird feeders, and they swarm to her apartment balcony — ON THE 14TH FLOOR!
